what we did
Our crew carried out the reconstruction and extension of Taxiway Alpha, adding 2500’ of asphalt and two 54” double pipe cross drains. The taxiway and the new construction included a soil and lime rock mix, followed by the placement of a lime rock base, 2” of structural asphalt and 2” of runway formula asphalt friction.
award won
Anderson Columbia is proud and happy to have received the Excellence in Pavement Award in Special Projects from the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida (ACAF) for our runway rehabilitation for runway 10-28 at the Lake City Gateway Airport. Project Superintendent Ricky Reed and Project Manager A.J. Land over saw the construction, and Paving Foreman Greg Waters and his crew laid the asphalt for the 170’ wide and 8,000’ long runway. The airport was only closed for 25 days, allowing the project to be completed quicker and under budget.
