Junction City Mining (JCM) was formed in 1998 primarily to supply road building materials to Anderson Columbia Co.’s operations throughout North and Central Florida. Since its beginning, JCM has grown into one of the largest quarries in the state of Georgia, and is a leading supplier of materials throughout South Georgia and North and Central Florida. JCM’s granite is the highest quality rock found in the Southeast, and JCM supports both truck and rail sales operations with 6 distribution yards and customers in Georgia and Florida as far south as the I-4 Corridor between Orlando and Tampa.
JCM produces seven major types of product. Since the demand on the aggregate market is largely for stone less than one-half inch in diameter, most of the product produced by Junction City Mining will be screened to meet this market demand. With the ability to transport products by truck or railroad, Junction City Mining is able to meet the needs of any customer. Junction City Mining is unique in its railroad logistics in that it has both Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation servicing the quarry. This enables Junction City Mining tremendous amount of flexibility in the markets that it can reach with its product.
The mining industry is continuously changing, and Junction City Mining prides itself on keeping up with and implementing mining technology and trends, while maintaining environmentally sound mining practices.
